+ ZIP file with all the relevant PNG files to recreate the above fanart.

+ For a complete breakdown of the process go here: (link).

+ The goal of this tutorial is:

Fanart wise: make the Sheppard fanart.

Technique wise:

1) use a blending technique that requires layers, textures and for which we'll be erasing parts of the images in such a way that everything blends together seamlessly. So, in this case, you'll learn how to incorporate colours and screencaps to a background (a wall) in such a way that it looks as if they're painted on.

2) properly prepare the screencap, crop the screencap, use and erase technique and create an appropriate background for your (fan)art. (some selective colouring + curves)

3)make sure that your main subject doesn't get lost in the mix of textures and layers, but that it becomes the focal point of the piece-- by bringing it more to the foreground.

+ Comments are appreciated.

Have fun! :)

Thank you! I have thought of making more, but this kind of tutorial requires a lot of free time and right now I don't have a lot of that. However, I have tons of ideas for tutorials and I'm quite determined to go through with a few as soon as I find some time. So keep on the look-out. :)
